What Prophecies armor is the "best" armor for a tank?
I had knights armor, but I bought platemail armor to check it out, but I had to go to my mom's house because my parents are divorced. Because of this, I couldn't try the armor out. Is platemail better for just fighting (not running)? Also, what monk armor do you prefer for a protection monk?

even if you have dragons/plate it's good to have one piece of knights/ascalon for the damage absorbtion. Personally i use chest, legs and arms glads, boots ascalon, and helm whatever attribute tied helm that suits what i'm doing

I like to stick with one type of armor at a time. I don't mix and match. Which is better, Platemail or Knights (for fighting)?

saneo gave you a good advice, I think you should at least conisder it since your warrior might live longer in battle this way.
On my warrior I use Platemail with Knight's Gauntlets for damage reduction but once I beat factions I think I'm going to switch to 15K factions Gladiator's with Ascalon boots, just like saneo is using. |

While platemail does look cool(especially the 15k) it won't give you the best tanking experience, the small amount of damage reduced is unlikely to be what kills you, but every little bit counts, especially if you plan on soloing. |

Yeah, it looks cool, but you're a lot more effective with one piece of knights. Honestly, it's just the boots or gauntlets, the armor still looks mostly the same.
As for knight's armor, there is no point in using a full set of it. It's the worst armor in a full set because the damage reduction is global, one piece of knights gives your whole body a damage reduction bonus. |

Ok. I'll try it your way. Glads with Ascalon boots. I should still get the absorption and vigor mods too right?

Yup. The superior absorption is fairly cheap, but the superior vigor is around 35K. I am not rich at all. I cannot afford this kinda money.

then get a minor or major, the difference is incredibly small, and most of the time in PvE your health shouldnt drop below 100.

If you are going by gameplay than one knight's piece is good for absorption (usually I have knight's boots) and then if you don't use a lot of energy (rely on adrenaline) buy plate but if you use energy go with gladiators. My warrior uses energy so I have knight's boots and the rest gladiator. IMHO for monk acolyte is the best because Healing and Protection monks should be using spells not armor to protect themselves so buy the acolyte for the energy regen. |

I will sound harsh but I do that because I want to be brief.
Best prophecies armours are these: Whatever headpiece you like (best are the weapon ones imo, str is worst imo fo rgeneral purpose..) with +3 of the attribute it raises. That gives you a +4 helmet. Think about it. 4 attribute levels you can switch right there on the battlefield... of besides headpieces, in prophecies, there are only 2 sets: Platemail with knights or ascalon boots. Gladiators with knights or ascalon boots. Anything else is noobwear. edit: Plate will give highest defense glads will give normal defense+energy All full sets will give a lot lower defense than these 2 I described above. No way around it unless you mix with knights/ascalon Last edited by Don Zardeone; May 20, 2006 at 12:22 AM // 00:22.. |
